GRAND SOLEIL CUP 2024

GRAND SOLEIL CUP 2024

GRAND SOLEIL CUP 2024

From 21 to 23 June 2024, the sea of the Costa Smeralda was the setting for the 22nd edition of the Grand Soleil Cup. Despite the strong mistral has affected the performance of the tests at sea both on Saturday and Sunday, the Grand Soleil Cup 2024, organized in collaboration with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, has confirmed the ideal opportunity to gather the owners Grand Soleil Yachts and celebrate together the arrival of summer.

Among the models present at the event, were two Grand Soleil 72 Performance Panta Rei 2 and Shanti, new flagships of Cantiere del Pardo, but also historical models of the yard such as the Grand Soleil 42 Gilda and Tobal del Mar designed by German Frers and Bucentaure 2 designed by Judel/Vrolijk studio.

The 22nd edition of the Grand Soleil Cup has enjoyed a great turnout, attracting 38 crews in Porto Cervo, most of which came from various regions of Italy, while others were from Spain, France, Monaco and even Puerto Rico, confirming the great resonance of the Grand Soleil Yachts brand at European and global level.

On Saturday 22nd June, the first day the Grand Soleil Yachts fleet should have sailed, the Sailing Committee canceled the departure after monitoring the conditions at sea and checking the increasing trend of wind intensity. As an alternative to sailing, the crews were involved in a pasta party on the quay, before preparing for the elegant gala dinner scheduled for the same evening, always held on the panoramic terrace of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

On Sunday, June 23rd, the Grand Soleil Yachts fleet attempted to run a short coastal route, behind the Mistral, towards the Islands of Mortorio and Soffi and then climb to the finish line located in front of the Islands of Li Nibani. Unfortunately, the weather conditions, once at sea, worsened and the crews returned to port, meeting in Piazza Azzurra for the delivery of special prizes.

Despite the weather conditions were not favorable to the performance of sailing at sea, the atmosphere of the weekend was full of fun and good humor among the members of the Grand Soleil Yachts community, who had the opportunity to create bonds and moments of sharing.

A big thank you to all the crews who joined us in the celebrations in Porto Cervo and that made this 22nd edition of the Grand Soleil Cup unique.

A special thanks for the success of the 2024 Grand Soleil Cup also goes to the precious main sponsors Quick Group and Volvo Penta, as well as the brands B&G, Falconeri and Garmin as official partners.
Cantiere del Pardo would also like to thank Bamar, Harken, Bolina Sail, Ethimo, Quantum Sails, G&G Rigging, One Sails and Podere Guardia Grande.
